Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 16, 2026
This policy explains what data the Blockr iOS app ("Blockr", "we", "us") collects, why, and what your rights are. Blockr is developed and operated by Jonas Gumdal as an independent developer. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact support@scandihouse.co.
The short version: Blockr does not sell your data. Blockr does not use advertising or third-party analytics that track you across other apps. The apps you choose to block and your on-device screen time never leave your phone — Apple's Screen Time APIs prevent us from seeing them. The only personal data on our servers is what's needed to give you an account and a subscription.
1. Information we collect
When you sign in with Apple, we receive and store on our servers:
- An anonymous user identifier issued by Apple — used to recognize you across launches and devices.
- An email address — this may be Apple's private relay address if you chose "Hide My Email". We do not use this address for marketing.
- Your name, but only if you chose to share it at the first sign-in. Apple gives us your name once; you can refuse, and Blockr still works.
This data is stored in Supabase, our authentication and database provider.
If you purchase a subscription, the transaction is processed by Apple under the App Store's standard terms. We use RevenueCat to verify your subscription status. RevenueCat receives a randomized identifier we generate for your account, along with the receipt from Apple, so it can tell our app whether your subscription is active. We do not receive your payment card details, billing address, or any other financial information.
Everything else — your selected apps, the times you set, your daily goals, your blocking schedules and modes, your usage statistics — is stored on your device only. We do not have access to it.
2. Apple Screen Time data
Blockr uses Apple's Family Controls, Screen Time, ManagedSettings and DeviceActivity frameworks to let you choose apps and websites to block and to count how much time you've spent on your device.
Apple deliberately designs these APIs so that we cannot see the specific apps or websites you choose, or your detailed usage. The selection is represented to our app only as opaque tokens. All blocking, all counting, and all goal evaluation happens on your device. None of this is uploaded to our servers, and none of it is shared with any third party.
3. Information we do not collect
Blockr does not collect, request, or access:
- Your location
- Your contacts, photos, calendar, or reminders
- Your microphone or camera
- Your Health, Fitness, or HomeKit data
- Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA)
- Browsing history outside what you explicitly block
Blockr does not use the App Tracking Transparency framework, because it does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
4. Why we collect what we collect
- Account data — so your settings, goals, and subscription follow you when you reinstall the app or use a different device.
- Subscription data — so we can give paying subscribers access to the paid features they purchased.
- Screen Time data (on-device only) — so the app can block what you asked it to block and show you progress against your goals.
Legal basis (GDPR): performing the contract you entered into when you started using Blockr, and our legitimate interest in keeping the app working.
5. How long we keep your data
Account data is kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account from inside the app (Settings → Delete Account), our servers:
- Mark your profile row as deleted for our audit log, then
- Remove your authentication record from Supabase entirely, then
- Sign you out of the app and unlink your subscription identifier from RevenueCat.
Backups may briefly contain your data after deletion. They expire on a rolling basis (typically within 30 days) and are not used for any other purpose.
6. Who processes your data on our behalf
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers. Each only receives the minimum data needed for their function.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store payments, Screen Time APIs. Governed by Apple's privacy policy.
- Supabase — authentication and database. Hosted in the EU. See supabase.com/privacy.
- RevenueCat — subscription state. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics providers.
7. Your rights
Under GDPR and similar laws, you have the right to:
- Access a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data — you can do this yourself in-app via Settings → Delete Account, or by emailing us.
- Object to specific processing, or withdraw consent.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@scandihouse.co. We respond within 30 days.
8. Children
Blockr is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International transfers
Our primary database is hosted in the EU. RevenueCat operates from the United States. Where data leaves the EU/EEA, transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-app before the change takes effect.
